The Weeknd Cancels Performance for Jimmy Kimmel Because Of Donald Trump

Two Canadian artists, The Weeknd and rapper Belly have canceled their performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! because Donald Trump was set to appear on the episode. The duo were set to record their performance in LA Wednesday night but chose not to because they disagree with Trump’s policies and views. The Canadian rapper Belly, who’s a muslim and an immigrant had this to say in a statement.

“I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world – from religion to race. I just didn’t want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don’t agree with. I’m here on a campaign of positivity and love and to contribute what I can to music,” Belly said. “I create songs people go to sleep and wake up to, songs that they fall in love to. For me, being Muslim and being somebody that appreciates my access here in America, I love the fact that I’m able to be here. To play my part in this business is a privilege and a beautiful thing. The fact that I could lose that ability through the actions of someone such as Donald Trump isn’t right to me. At all.”

Views Goes Platinum First Week

Drake Views Goes Platinum First WeekUniversal has just announced that Drake’s Views has been streamed over 250 million times in the first 6 days alone.

It’s also been announced that the albums reached the number 1 spot on the iTunes chart selling over 1 million albums in less than six days, if you include streams he is well over the platinum status selling 1.2 million albums.  How many artists do you know that still go platinum in the first week? Not too many

Congratulations to Champagne Papi!

VIEWS has already sold over 820K in The U.S. and Canada alone

Well it’s not too often that you hear of rappers going platinum in the first week anymore but it appears that Drake just may do that. According to BuzzAngleMusic, in just two days, VIEWS has sold over 740K albums in the United States and over 80,000 in Canada. Considering theres a number more days left in the week and these numbers don’t even include the UK or else where in the world, its safe to say VIEWS will be well into the platinum status after the first week.

Has the album lived up to the hype?

Official Trailer For Views From The 6

Yesterday on OVO radio Drake finally announced the release date for Views From The 6, which is April 29. He also announced that the album will be available exclusively on Apple Music. Check out the official trailer for the album directly from Drizzy below.

Views From The 6 Will Be Exclusively Available on Apple Music

Well it seems as though Drake is following in the foot steps of Kanye West and will be releasing his album exclusively through the streaming company which he has shares in. Kanye reportedly doubled the number of Tidal sign-ups by releasing his album exclusively through Tidal although the album also saw a huge number of illegal downloads. Views From The 6 will likely see the same thing happen although Apple Music is much more popular streaming service than Tidal so it likely won’t be as big of an inconvenience for fans. Will you get Apple Music just for VFT6 or will you try to find a download elsewhere?
